Dear Parents,
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
  • HOMEWORK AND SPELLING:  There won’t be any homework sent home next Friday.  I will send the new spelling words home on Tuesday, Jan. 3rd.  The spelling test will be given on Friday, Jan. 6th.
  • Please have your son/daughter read over the Christmas Break. By Jan. 6th they should be at about 71% of their goal.  Their reading goals are due Jan. 20th. 
  • The PTA is bringing in a wonderful Magic Show for our students next Friday, Dec. 16th. Make sure you ask them all about it.
  • Donuts with Dads is next Thurs., Dec. 15th from 8:00-8:30.  Hope you see all of you dads here!

Dear Parents,
            I hope all of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I want you to know how thankful I am to have your children in my classroom.  They are all very special to me.  They enrich my life and make me a better person. 
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
  • New AR goals start today.  Many students struggled to make their goals this past grading period.  Please remind your child to set aside a designated amount of time each day/night to read.
  • REMINDER:  BOOK ORDERS are be due by Wed., Nov. 30th.  These books make great Christmas gifts and are very affordable.  If you order any for Christmas, just write a note or e-mail me and I will keep them for you to pick up in person.  Combine all orders and make any checks payable to Scholastic Books.  You may also order on-line at www.scholastic.com/bookclubs .  Use this code to order books:  HCWNC. 
  • Ellis Christmas Programs:  Tuesday, Dec. 6th (9:30 and 1:30.) and Wed., Dec. 7th 9:30).
  • Report Cards are now available for viewing on Infinite Campus.  On Friday, paper copies will be sent home to those of you who have signed up for them.

  • UPCOMING SNOWSHOEING FIELD TRIP:  We will be going to the Nordic Ski Center on Wed., Jan. 18th.  The cost for each student is $10.  This includes the lesson, trail pass, equipment rental and the bus.  Students will need a lunch for that day.  More information will be sent home the closer we get to the date of the trip.  We love parent helpers for this fun adventure!!

Dear Parents,
IMPORTANT INFORMATION

v  Donation of Candy:  If you would like to donate a bag of candy for classroom rewards/prizes for reading, homework, good behavior, etc. I would greatly appreciate it.  All of the Halloween candy will be on clearance soon. J

v  McTeacher’s Night is next Wednesday, Nov. 2nd at the McDonald’s in Chubbuck by Wal-Mart.  Teachers will be there between 5:00-7:00.  Fourth grade teachers will be there between 6:00-7:00.  Ellis will receive a portion of the purchases made during this time.  Thanks in advance for your support!

v  I am sending home multiplication flash cards from the math workbook. Students may use them to practice their facts at home.  I am also sending home two division practice sheets with answer keys.  You may want to place these in plastic sheet protectors and use a dry erase marker to practice these pages many times.

v  Please see that attached information about ISU’s Benny’s Book Club.

v  Red Ribbon Week (Drug Awareness Week) will be held Oct. 31 – Nov. 4th.  These are the days:

v  Monday:  Wear as much red as possible!

v  Tuesday:  Pajama Day

v  Wednesday:  Crazy Hair Day

v  Thursday:  Inside Out Day (wear clothes inside out)

v  Friday:  Extreme Ellis Spirit Day (wear lots of Ellis colors)
