Dear Parents,

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

•  FIELD TRIP PERMISSION FORMS:  Please sign and return the yellow bus permission forms for our upcoming field trip to The Oregon Trail Center in Montpelier. This field trip is possible because of the generosity of the Pocatello Women’s Clinic.  The doctors have generously donated the funds to pay for the busses and the admission fee for the students.  If you know any of these doctors, please thank them for making it possible for your child to participate in such a wonderful learning experience. Our field trip is on Tuesday, May 13^th.  We will leave at 8:40 and return at 2:30. Parent volunteers will need to drive/carpool because of limited bus seating.

• ELA SBAC PERFORMANCE TEST:  This test will be administered throughout the day on Wed., April 30^th.  The first part begins at 8:45. This will be the last state test our classroom will be taking for this year.

• SCHOOL EVACUATION DRILL:  We will be having a school-wide evacuation drill on Wed., May 7^th at 8:45.  We will be walking to the church at the end of Whitaker Road.  We are asking that students DO NOT WEAR FLIP FLOPS OR SANDALS. 

•   Please sign and return any pink informational forms that you may still have at home. These forms were sent home in last Friday’s homework folder.  This information is for the office and needs to be updated yearly.  Thank you for your help!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION    

·                    MATH Performance Test: Wednesday, April 16^th from 8:45-11:30

·                    Learner Profile Skills Report: These will be sent home on Friday, April 18^th_.       

·                    FIELD TO MONTPELIER: Tuesday, May 13^th, leave at 8:40 and return at 2:30. Parents volunteers will need to drive/carpool because of limited bus seating.

·                    Book Orders:  these are the last orders for the school year. They will be due by Monday, April 21^st. Make any checks payable to Scholastic Book Clubs.  You may also order on-line at www.scholastic.com/bookclubs.  Use this code to get to our classroom book order forms:  HCWNC . 

·                    BOOK SWAP!!    Thursday, April 24th from 6 - 7 p.m.  Students can start bringing gently used books to school and receive a ticket to swap for a different book at the book exchange.  This is a popular night for our students.  Please look through your books and see what you can find. J Students can exchange a chapter book for a chapter book, a picture book for a picture book, or 2 picture books for 1 chapter book.

*                    SBAC SCHEDULE CHANGES: Some of our times have changed for testing.   Here are the updated times:

*                    MATH Computer Adaptive Test: Tuesday, April 8^th from 8:30-11:50

*                    MATH Performance Test: Wednesday, April 16^th from 8:45-11:30.

*                    ELA Performance Test: Wednesday, April 30^th from 8:45-11:30 and 1:0-2:40.

                         PLEASE TRY TO SCHEDULE ANY APPOINTMENTS AROUND THESE TESTING DAYS/TIMES.

*                    PTA FUN RUN: Join in the fun on Sat., April 12^th.  Race check in is at 8:00 to 8:30.  Race starts at Ellis at 9:00 a.m.. You still have time to register!

*                    Please remember to return spring picture packets and/or money to school as soon as     possible.

Dear Parents,

            I hope everyone had a relaxing spring break.  It is good to be back at school.  We are digging in and preparing for the upcoming SBAC field testing (Idaho Common Core tests).

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

*        AR Information:  Students need to be at 100% by Wednesday, April 9^th.

*        VOLUNTEERS FOR HEALTHY SNACKS FOR ISAT TESTING:  If you would like to help provide healthy snacks/water during the testing, please contact me as soon as possible at 237-4742, thompsde@sd25.us , or fill out the form below.  We have 28 students in our classroom.  Thanks in advance!! The Idaho Dairy Association has donated string cheese for all of the testing.
