Dear Parents,

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

·                    MATH ISAT testing on Wednesday, May 2^nd.  We will start testing at 8:40. Please make sure your child has plenty of sleep, eats a big breakfast, and arrives at school on time.  The students’ Reading ISAT scores are awesome!!!  I am so proud of all the students!!

·                    UPCOMING FIELD TRIP:  We will be going to Ross Park on Thursday, May 10^th.  We will leave school at 8:45 and return at 2:00.  Students need to return the signed Parks and Rec. documents that were sent home last week.  Please sign and return the bus permission slip as well.  Most of you have paid the $10 fee.  I will let you know if your child has not paid.  Please send the money to school as soon as possible.  The Pocatello Parks and Rec. Dept. will be doing a rock climbing station, a Frisbee golf station, and a Greenway station with our students. Students need to bring a sack lunch (or buy one from school), drink(s), wear appropriate clothing for the weather (please check the forecast), wear CLOSED TOE SHOES-NO FLIP FLOPS OR SANDALS and NO ELECTRONICS.  If you would like to volunteer to help with this field trip, please send a note, call, or e-mail me.  237-4742, thompsde@sd25.us . You can also meet us at the park for all of the day or part of the day. 

·                    4^th GRADE TALENT SHOW: Wed., May 16^th from 1:20-2:40.  Our classroom will have tryouts on Friday, May 11^th at 11:30.

Important Information   

•   LANGUAGE ISAT testing on Wednesday, April 17^th from 10:30-12:00.  Your child should share an ISAT letter with you.  Please sign and return the ISAT letter.  If your child returns the signed paper, his/her name will be put into a drawing for a prize.  This will happen for each ISAT test. For the testing, it is important that the students are here for the entire testing time.  They must complete the entire test or the test becomes invalid.  Please make sure your child has plenty of sleep and a big breakfast.  We will take a break during the test, and the students will be allowed to eat a snack that volunteer parents have provided.  

•  We had a great time on our field trip to Texas Roadhouse.  I have attached a free kids meal from the restaurant.  If you go to the restaurant to eat, make sure you tell them “Thank You!” from Ellis. 

•  BEACH PARTY BOOK SWAP!!  Thursday, April 19th from 6 - 7 p.m.  Wear your favorite beach apparel.  No swimming suits, please.  Treats will be provided.  Parents will receive handouts on how to enhance academic achievement.  Have your child bring to school gently used books and receive a ticket to swap for a different book at the beach party.
