Dear Parents,

Thanks to the parents who helped with the Halloween party. I appreciate all you did for us!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  • Donation of Candy: If you would like to donate a bag of candy for classroom rewards/prizes for reading, homework, good behavior, etc. I would greatly appreciate it. All of the Halloween candy will be on clearance soon.
  • I will be gone next Thursday, Nov. 4th, to an all day seminar. Please remind your child about expected behavior with a substitute teacher. Thank you!
  • McTeacher’s Night is next Wednesday, Nov. 10th at the McDonald’s in Chubbuck by Wal-Mart. Teachers will be there between 5:00-7:00. Fourth grade teachers will be there between 5:30-6:00. Ellis will receive a portion of the purchases made during this time. Thanks in advance for your support
  • Be watching for upcoming Math-a-Thon information from our PTA. A packet will be coming home soon. The math-a-thon will run from Nov. 12th through the 23rd.
  • Remind your child to come in to see me before Friday mornings if he/she has any questions with the Friday homework. I am happy to clarify directions and answer questions.

Dear Parents,

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
• ISU is sponsoring a reading incentive program called Benny Book Club. Students will receive a free ticket voucher to an ISU event for every 150 pages they read. This incentive is good up to 600 pages. ISU has provided a record sheet for this purpose. It is being sent home today in the Friday Homework Folder. After your child has read 150 pages, return the signed paper to school and I will send home a ticket voucher for you to take to an ISU ticket office to be redeemed for a ticket to any football, volleyball, soccer, or men’s or women’s basketball game during the 2010-2011 school year. The ticket voucher may be turned in at the ticket office at Reed Gym or Holt Arena beforehand or at the event. 5 books = 150 pages

• Please make sure you have used the Infinite Campus Portal to view your child’s grades. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Obray or Mrs. Orr in the office for your log in information.

• Here are some math web sites for your child to practice his/her math skills: www.funbrain.com, www.mathisfun.com, www.coolmath-games.com

• Any Scholastic Book orders are due Monday, Oct. 25th.

WEEKEND NEWS

Dear Parents,
IMPORTANT INFORMATION

• Ellis is having a Book Fair next week in the library. Please see the flyer in your child’s homework folder. I am sending home Scholastic Book order forms for the month of October. If you can’t make it to the book fair, then you may find something in the book order. If you want an item as a gift, just let me know and I can hold it back for you until you have time to pick it up. Book orders will be due by Monday, Oct. 25th. Make checks payable to Scholastic Books. I will be sending home two more orders before Christmas.

• If you haven’t picked up your Infinite Campus Portal account numbers yet, please stop the office. On Thursday, Oct. 21st, report cards will be sent home through this portal system. If you do not have access to a computer, a paper copy will be sent home that same day.

• The oldest child in your family will be bringing home a flyer letting you know of all the activities for next week: Parent Night, Granola with Grandparents, and HEART DAY.

WEEKEND NEWS 10-1-10

Dear Parents,
• No School next Thursday and Friday, Oct. 7-8: In-service Days
• The homework will be due on WEDNESDAY, Oct. 6th.
• SPELLING TEST will be given on WEDNESDAY, Oct. 6th .

• We had a wonderful time on our field trip to Swore Farm!! I hope you are enjoying the red potatoes. A big thank you to the parent volunteers who helped on our field trip. If you know anyone who is associated with Bannock County Farm Bureau, Portneuf Soil and Water Conservation District, Swore Farms, or Highland High FFA students, please let them know how much you appreciate all they do for our students. Without them, we would not have had such an excellent learning experience..
