WEEKEND NEWS

Important Information     

·        LANGUAGE ISAT testing on Tuesday, April 16^th from 10:30-12:20.  Your child should share an ISAT letter with you.  Please sign and return the ISAT letter.  If your child returns the signed paper, his/her name will be put into a drawing for a prize.  This will happen for each ISAT test. It is important that the students are here for the entire testing time.  They must complete the entire test or the test becomes invalid.  Please make sure your child has plenty of sleep and a big breakfast.  We will take a break during the test, and the students will be allowed to eat a snack that has been provided by parent volunteers. Students may bring their own snacks if they like, but it is not necessary.  

·        I will be out of town on April 18, 19, 22, and 23. Please remind your child to be on his/her best behavior for our substitute, Mrs. Smith.

·        BOOK SWAP!!  Thursday, April 18th from 6 - 7 p.m.  Treats will be provided. Parents will receive handouts on summer reading ideas. Have your child bring to school gently used books and receive a ticket to swap for a different book at the beach party.

·        Midterm grades will be posted on the parent portal in Infinite Campus between April 17 and April 23.

Dear Parents,

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

*                    BOXTOPS:  Our class won BoxTops for the month of March!!  Thank you for your support with this program.  Keep saving and sending them in!

*                    VOLUNTEERS FOR HEALTHY SNACKS FOR ISAT TESTING: Thank you to Melissa Lish, Elizabeth Demuzio, Tausha Baker, and Michelle Harsh for volunteering!  I sure appreciate your help.  There has been a slight change in the ISAT schedule.  We switched our Reading and Math days.  The updated schedule is below.

*        Language ISAT: Tuesday, April 16th from 10:30-12:20.

*        Math ISAT: Friday, April 26^th from 8:40-10:30.

*        Reading ISAT: Wednesday, May 1^st from 8:40-10:30.

·                   *        UPCOMING BOOK EXCHANGE!!  Thursday, April 18th from 6 - 7 p.m.     Students can start bringing gently used books to school and receive a ticket to swap for a different book at the book exchange.  This is a popular night for our students.  Please look through your books and see what you can find. J Students can exchange a chapter book for a chapter book, a picture book for a picture book, or 2 picture books for 1 chapter book.

·                   *       AR Information:  Students need to be at 100% by Tuesday, April 16^th.

·                    *      Book Orders are due by Friday, April 12th.  Make any checks payable to Scholastic Book Clubs.  You may also order on-line at www.scholastic.com/bookclubs.  Use this code to get to our classroom book order forms:  HCWNC. 

·                    *      If your child has a summer birthday, he/she may choose an “un-birthday” day to celebrate at school.
