Dear Parents,
IMPORTANT INFORMATION

v  Donation of Candy:  If you would like to donate a bag of candy for classroom rewards/prizes for reading, homework, good behavior, etc. I would greatly appreciate it.  All of the Halloween candy will be on clearance soon. J

v  McTeacher’s Night is next Wednesday, Nov. 2nd at the McDonald’s in Chubbuck by Wal-Mart.  Teachers will be there between 5:00-7:00.  Fourth grade teachers will be there between 6:00-7:00.  Ellis will receive a portion of the purchases made during this time.  Thanks in advance for your support!

v  I am sending home multiplication flash cards from the math workbook. Students may use them to practice their facts at home.  I am also sending home two division practice sheets with answer keys.  You may want to place these in plastic sheet protectors and use a dry erase marker to practice these pages many times.

v  Please see that attached information about ISU’s Benny’s Book Club.

v  Red Ribbon Week (Drug Awareness Week) will be held Oct. 31 – Nov. 4th.  These are the days:

v  Monday:  Wear as much red as possible!

v  Tuesday:  Pajama Day

v  Wednesday:  Crazy Hair Day

v  Thursday:  Inside Out Day (wear clothes inside out)

v  Friday:  Extreme Ellis Spirit Day (wear lots of Ellis colors)


THIS WEEK’S HOMEWORK

v  LANGUAGE:  Drops In The Bucket C9

v  LANGUAGE:  Common & Proper Nouns: Have your children read the 2 sets of directions carefully. They must capitalize the proper nouns when they write them in the chart.

v  READING:  read nightly and fill out your reading log

WEEKEND NEWS

Dear Parents,

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

·   It was wonderful seeing all of you during conferences!  Thanks for coming in.
 ·   The school district is having problems with our Outlook e-mail system.  Teachers are not receiving some of the e-mails sent by parents.  The e-mails are going into a spam account and are unable to be open or seen by teachers.  Teachers are not even aware that an e-mail has been sent.  The district is working on correcting this problem.  Until the problem is fixed,  I will send home Friday letters in your child’s homework folder.
·   Here are some math web sites for your child to practice his/her math skills:  www.funbrain.com, www.mathisfun.com, www.coolmath-games.com
·   Please read the attached paper that explains PTA Reflections.  This is a wonderful opportunity for your child to shine.  I hope all of you choose to participate in this activity.

·        McTeacher Night at McDonald’s has been rescheduled for Nov. 2. Come and support Ellis! 
·        BOOK ORDERS:  due on Friday, Oct. 14th.  Remember you can combine book orders and only write one check payable to “Scholastic Book Clubs”.  You may send cash as well.  You can also order on-line at scholastic.com.  Use this code to get to our class page:  HCWNC. 
·        No School on Thursday and Friday, Oct. 6-7: State-wide in-service Days
·        Conferences/Open House will be on Oct. 20th.  Scheduling notes will come home on Oct. 14th.
