“I am responsible and always learning!”
Dear Parents,
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
· HOMEWORK INFORMATION: These past four weeks our class has been completing the “End Punctuation and Commas” section of the pink Language homework together. We are no longer doing this section together. I have attached a hot pink Comma and Direct Quotations reference paper for them. PLEASE have them KEEP this and use this reference while completing their homework each week. On the pink Math homework they need to start converting the last problem on the #2 Algorithms section. They will need to convert inches to feet, quarts to gallons, minutes to hours, etc. I would also like them to start using the standard measurements of ¼ instead of 2/8, ½ instead 4/8, and ¾ instead of 6/8. If you could check their work over in these areas, I would really appreciate it. Thanks!
· PENNY WARS FOR THE IDAHO FOOD BANK START ON TUESDAY!!
Penny Wars will start Tuesday, February 21st and run all week through Friday, February 24th.
All money donated will be given to the Idaho Food Bank. Students may add pennies to their classroom jars. Silver coins may be added to other classroom jars and will count against the pennies. At the end of the week the money will be counted and the classroom with the most money wins a party. Help us support the Idaho Food Bank!
· AR GOALS & READ IN PAJAMA PARTY: AR Goals are due this coming Friday, Feb. 24th by the end of the day. The students have also earned a PJs/Blanket/Pillow Read-In Party!! Next Friday, they may wear sweats or appropriate pajamas, bring a pillow, favorite blanket, and/or stuffed animal. They may also bring a snack to eat while they read their favorite book from 1:20-2:00. Congratulations Room 5 Falcons!! You are soaring high!!
· PRIDE DAYS: Remind your students to wear Ellis colors/shirts every Friday for Pride Day. Colors are blue, gray, and pink. There is a contest every week to see which class is wearing the most colors (only shirts are counted). There is a traveling trophy for the highest class percentage.
· Thank you for the extra Kleenex boxes. We are making great use of them. We could still use more to get us through the school year.J
· Thank you for logging onto Infinite Campus Portal to view grades, etc.
· MOMS IN THE MORNING: We had a wonderful turn out for this event. Thanks to all the dads who helped serve all of our amazing moms!! A huge THANK YOU to the PTA for sponsoring this event.
